Berks shopping center sold in package deal with 4 other Pa. plazas | Money

A Spring Township shopping center was recently sold in a package deal with four other southeastern Pennsylvania plazas.

Spring Towne Center, which is located at Shillington Road and Route 222, was part of a $114.25 million sale that also included shopping centers in Chester and Montgomery counties.

In a press release, JLL Capital Markets said Berwyn, Chester County-based Brandolini Cos. sold them to Lakewood, N.J.-based Paramount Realty, in partnership with Cypress-based Medipower Group. The deal also included $80.5 million of acquisition financing.

JLL’s Philadelphia office marketed the properties on behalf of Brandolini.

Absconding Texas Democrat Postponed Wedding, Others Reportedly Left Dying Family Members

The Texas Democrats who fled the state to block a Republican voting bill left behind dying relatives. One even postponed her wedding.

These stories came to light this week when Texas state Democratic Representative James Talarico said that there was “lots of crying” among the roughly 58 legislators who left the state on Monday for Washington D.C.. Talarico said that he and his fellow representatives only fled the state as a “last resort” against the Republican bill.

Beloved Member Of Family-Run Jewelry Store In Area Dies

A beloved member of a decades-old, family-run jeweler in the area has died.

Fairfield County staple Craig’s Jewelers, located on Main Street in Ridgefield, announced that Elsie Craig has died at the age of 94.

“At this time we must inform you of the tragic loss of our beloved Miss Elsie,” the store said in a statement. 

“We are heartbroken by this horrific loss, but hope to find comfort in knowing she is at peace and back with her husband Norman,” the store said.
