Woman charged with hate crime in attack on Asian beauty store owner

HOUSTON – One of two customers involved in an attack inside of a beauty supply store on St. Patrick’s Day has been indicted on a hate crime charge, District Attorney Kim Ogg announced Friday.

“I just want justice … get a punishment for what they did. not over, not less just the exact amount for what they did. That’s what I believe in. That’s what I want,” said Sung Jun Lee, the beauty supply store owner’s son.

Shaquille O’Neal helps man pay for engagement ring at Atlanta jewelry store

Shaquille O’Neal made a lucky fan’s day. In a video posted to Instagram, the Hall of Fame big man was spotted at a jewelry store in Atlanta giving his credit card to man paying for an engagement ring.

The video itself is short, but reveals the entirety of the story as the NBA legend covers the bill and shakes the hand of the man wanting to get the ring.

PD: Parking Ticket, Spit Lead To Lyndhurst Jewelry Store Burglar Who Stole Costume Bling

A parking ticket and spit led Lyndhurst police to a jewelry store burglar who smashed a display case and fled not with diamonds or pearls, authorities said, but with much cheaper merchandise.

Responding Officers Brian Kapp and Tom Seickendick found the back door at Chandel Jewelers on Ridge Road forced open shortly before 6:30 p.m. March 18, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.

Kapp’s brother, Detective William Kapp, joined them inside, where he found a glass display case shattered and more than a dozen alloy and cubic zirconia rings missing.

Total combined value: 100 bucks.

2 men charged in 2019 Halloween jewelry store robbery in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — Two men accused of stealing an estimated $70,000 in jewelry on Halloween 2019 have now been charged.

Jerome Welton McWilliams, 29, and Darnel Batts, 33, were charged Friday in 3rd District Court with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

On Oct. 31, 2019, McWilliams and Batts entered Stroud Jewelry, 905 E. 2100 South, and acted as if they were interested in purchasing several pieces of jewelry, according to charging documents.
