Woman charged with hate crime in attack on Asian beauty store owner

HOUSTON – One of two customers involved in an attack inside of a beauty supply store on St. Patrick’s Day has been indicted on a hate crime charge, District Attorney Kim Ogg announced Friday.

“I just want justice … get a punishment for what they did. not over, not less just the exact amount for what they did. That’s what I believe in. That’s what I want,” said Sung Jun Lee, the beauty supply store owner’s son.

Woman shares her struggle with addiction, becomes advocate for others battling substance abuse

INDIANAPOLIS – Danielle Burkett is open about her past—she’s in recovery from addiction and mental health issues. She also spent time in the criminal justice system.

Now, as manager of peer support services at Mental Health America of Indiana, she’s helping others going through hard times in their lives.
